Volunteers are the heart of our program.

When you give your time, your patience, and your heart, you help create a place where young people feel supported, encouraged, and capable. Every hour spent tutoring, every meal served, every game played, and every conversation shared strengthens our community. Volunteers bring steady energy, kindness, and creativity that help students grow and help families feel cared for. Your presence doesn’t just support our work — it shapes the experience our youth have every day.

Flexible scheduling:

We follow the ISD 196 calendar, usually Monday–Thursday.

Tutoring: 3:30–5:00 PM.
Van pickup: 2:45–4:15 PM.
Van drop-off: 5:30–6:30 PM.

Volunteer Opportunities

Van Drivers & Assistant

Transportation is a vital part of our Homework Help program! If you enjoy driving and have some time Monday through Thursday during the school year, please consider volunteering.

Schedule Opportunities:

Afternoon pick-up: Drive students from local schools to our program, 2:45–4:15 p.m.
Evening drop-off: Drive students home from the program, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
Van assistant: Ride along in the evening to help the driver, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

Each driving shift can be covered by a separate volunteer, so you can choose the time that works best for you.

All van drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age, pass a background check, and be comfortable driving a 15-passenger van.

All volunteers 18 and older must pass a background check to protect students and keep our environment safe and trustworthy. Checks are done fairly and privately, following privacy laws. Passing the check is required to volunteer; offers may depend on the results. Volunteers are told what is checked and can explain any findings. This helps protect those at risk, keep programs honest, and ensure reliable volunteers.
